This one-day symposium will demonstrate the most advanced techniques in complex abdominal hernia repair. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn through lectures by course faculty and in an animal laboratory. Dedicated time for questions and case discussions will be allotted to help participants advance their practices to the current state of the art for hernia repair. Hands on training with an animal model will allow an effective and safe teaching environment for these advanced techniques.
At the end of the symposium, attendees should:
• Be able to identify patients for whom TEP and TAPP inguinal hernia procedures are appropriate.
• Be able to identify the best ways to repair various ventral hernias.
• Know the advantages and disadvantages of different types of biologic prosthesis.
• Live pig laboratory
A course evaluation form will be provided to all attendees upon arrival, with the opportunity to comment on the value of the program content to their practice decisions, performance improvement activities, or impact on patient health status.
