Phrma Foundation - Pharmacology/Toxicology Research Starter Grant

Area: research starter grant in pharmacology/toxicology

Amount: $100,000 for one year

Description: Highest priority will be given to applications for research that attempts to integrate information on the mechanism of action of a drug or chemical at a molecular or cellular level with the drug's effects in the intact laboratory animal or human, encompassing the potential influences of biochemical, physiological or behavioral systems.

Eligibility: Applicants must be in a tenure track appointment for 3 years or less. See web site for more details.

September 1, 2014 Phrma Foundation - Informatics Research Starter Grant

Area: research starter grant in informatics

Amount: $100,000 for one year

Description: Preference will be given to those individuals whose research combines the application of novel computational methods together with experimental validation.

September 2, 2014 Burroughs Wellcome Fund Career Awards at the Scientific Interface

Area: advanced postdoctoral award

Amount: $500,000 over 5 years

Description: These awards are intended to foster the early career development of researchers who have transitioned or are transitioning from undergraduate and/or graduate work in the physical/mathematical/computational sciences or engineering into postdoctoral work in the biological sciences, and who are dedicated to pursuing a career in academic research.
