President’s Diversity Award established
June 02, 2011 College News - The Medical College of Wisconsin’s Diversity Advisory Committee and the Office of Faculty Affairs have established the President’s Diversity Award to honor individuals or groups from MCW or the community at large who have contributed to making the College a more inclusive and diverse environment.
Nominations are now being sought for the annual award. Faculty, staff, students, and community members are eligible for consideration.
The Diversity Awards Selection Committee will select up to two award recipients each year. Recipients will receive a $2,500 award, have their names inscribed on a plaque and be recognized at a Presidential reception. Notice of the award and award recipients also will be published internally and shared with community publications.
Nominations should be based on demonstrated leadership in fostering inclusivity and diversity. Examples of this include:
Establishment of initiatives that result in a workplace environment of diversity and inclusion
Development of educational programs that address health disparities
Significant contributions to the recruitment, retention and promotion of underrepresented graduate/medical students, residents/fellows, staff, and/or faculty
Advancement of critical partnerships that enhance collaborative activities between MCW and the greater underrepresented community
Completed nominations must submitted by Wednesday, June 15.
