Study Involving Dr. Fangman Finds Addicts in Rural Areas Often Aren’t Screened for Hepatitis C

Dr. John Fangman (MedicineInfectious Disease) is a co-author of a study reported in Harm Reduction Journal that found that intravenous drug users in rural areas are often not screened for hepatitis C.  IV drug users have increased risks of contracting hepatitis C.  Collaborating institutions on the study are the University of Wisconsin, the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin, and the Veterans Administration.
