Study Finds Dexamethasone More Effective than Prednisone for Childhood Asthma Treatment

Dr. Grant Keeney (Pediatrics-Emergency Medicine) authored a study published in Pediatrics that found that dexamethasone may be more effective in treating asthma in children than prednisone. The study found that dexamethasone might lead to fewer side effects like vomiting. Also, children also require only one or two doses of dexamethasone, compared to five days of prednisone.
