Rare Rotationplasty Surgery Provides Child with New Knee Joint

NBC-TV/Channel 4 reports on a rare rotationplasty procedure surgery performed by Dr. John C. Neilson (Orthopaedic Surgery) with colleagues at Froedtert and Children’s. The procedure was performed on a nine-year-old boy with osteosarcoma who’d had a portion of his leg amputated. The reattached and reversed healthy ankle and foot created a new knee joint for the child.
