Dr. Wang Leads Study on Opiod Use Before and After Elective Spine Surgery

Dr. Marjorie Wang (Neurosurgery) is principal investigator of a study presented at the North American Spine Society’s 2013 annual meeting that found that patients who took opioids before elective spine surgery for degenerative changes were more likely to be using the pain medications postoperatively than those who did not take opioids before surgery.
