Dr. Gupta Finds No Increased Odds of In-Hospital Mortality for Cocaine Users with MI

In a study published in the American Journal of Cardiology, Dr. Navdeep Gupta (Medicine – General Internal) reports that cocaine users with myocardial infarction do not have increased odds of in-hospital mortality. Dr. Gupta and colleagues write that cocaine-positive patients with acute coronary syndrome are younger with fewer risk factors, multivessel coronary artery disease, and lower drug-eluting stent and beta-blocker usage,
