Tinnitus Awareness Week is May 19-25
May 19, 2014 College News - May 19-25 is Tinnitus Awareness Week. Tinnitus is the perception of sound in the ears or head, and it affects up to 50 million Americans.
Audiologists in the Tinnitus and Hyperacusis Program, which is part of the Department of Otolaryngology and Communication Sciences, encourage everyone to obtain more awareness and education on tinnitus. Tinnitus is a real condition and in most cases can be treated by properly trained health professionals. There is no reason to just “live with it.”
