Healthy food options are aplenty on National Eating Healthy Day

Nov. 05, 2013 College News - The American Heart Association’s National Eating Healthy Day is Wednesday Nov. 6, and the MCW Cafeteria is making it easy for the College community to celebrate. They will have a variety of healthier food options that day – including a Sensible Stir Fry with vegetables, steamed brown rice with Asian flavor, baked spring rolls, tuna melts, and turkey, corn and sun dried tomato wraps.

National Eating Healthy Day was created by the Heart Association to encourage people to make small, healthy changes and raise awareness of the importance of good nutrition. 

Statistics show that one in two men and one in three women are at risk for heart disease, and research shows that poor lifestyle is a major contributor.
