Craig Nielsen Foundation awards $300,000 grant to MCW for spinal cord injury research
May 02, 2014 College News - Researchers in the Department of Neurosurgery were awarded a two-year, $300,000 grant from the Craig Nielsen Foundation for Spinal Cord Injury Research. The grant will support the development of advanced diffusion imaging technology to image the injured spinal cord in an animal model of spinal cord injury.
Matthew Budde, PhD, Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery, is the principal investigator on the grant. Other key members of the team are Shekar Kurpad, MD, PhD, Associate Professor of Neurosurgery, and Brian Schmit, PhD, Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Marquette University.
