Dear Partners and Friends,
Each step we take in the development of the community medical education programs in the Green Bay and Central Wisconsin regions reveals the building enthusiasm of every stakeholder to contribute to the success of this initiative. Collaboration is essential to the realization of the program, and with all our partners working in cooperation and with purpose, it will thrive.
As you will read in this issue of Connections, the Medical College’s Board of Trustees has approved commencement of negotiations with key partners in the Central Wisconsin and Green Bay regions for resources related to the community medical education program including sites for classrooms, offices, simulation, learning laboratories and student services, faculty to teach in the program, clinical experience sites and interprofessional training program opportunities. We are grateful for the warm welcome shown by our community partners to MCW faculty, staff and students who visited site locations to help assess how each would meet the diverse needs of the program.
The maps below illustrate the proximity and roles of our community partners in the Green Bay and Central Wisconsin areas.
All our partners have provided thoughtful input and engaged in meaningful dialogue regarding this critical effort to address provider needs throughout Wisconsin. Over the coming months, we will continue to work in earnest to identify key components of our partnerships so that we can meet our established deadlines to apply for accreditation and to welcome the first classes of medical students.
Our sincere thanks extends to the many people and institutions whose vision and commitment to collaboration are helping drive the development phase of the community medical education program forward.
