MCW Libraries' Inside Display Case Puts Spotlight on Human Trafficking

Human trafficking is defined as when someone obtains or holds a person in compelled service.  It is a global problem with over 12.3 million victims of forced labor/sex trafficking with an estimate of 14,000 to 17,500 individuals trafficked into the United States annually.  Human trafficking is even on the rise in Milwaukee.

The display case located in the Todd Wehr Library (near the computer lab) provides statistical information on human trafficking, how everyone’s life is touched by this modern slavery and how health care providers are positioned to identify and help victims of trafficking.

Please contact the MCW Libraries for additional information on the resources we can provide on this topic or if you have any questions: asklib@mcw.edu or 414.955.8302.
