According to the World Health Organization (WHO), “At least one-third of all cancer cases are preventable. Prevention offers the most cost-effective long-term strategy for the control of cancer.” The lifestyle choices we make, the foods we eat, and our physical activity levels have a direct impact on our overall cancer risk. It is crucial for people of all ages to take charge of their health by making smart lifestyle and nutrition choices, seeing their doctor regularly for checkups and health screenings, and monitoring their bodies for any changes that should be brought to the attention of medical professionals.  Help your Valentine prevent cancer by reading up on the WHO's Cancer Prevention website.  Library books featured in the display are available to check to out, and the MCW Libraries collection includes many more books on cancer and oncology.
