Anatomage Table - September's Library Resource of the Month
In support of the dynamic model of learning modalities that today’s future healthcare providers require, the Medical College of Wisconsin has acquired an Anatomage Table to support next generation teaching and learning opportunities at MCW. This system offers a life-size virtual dissection experience using an interactive, 3D touch controlled table. The Anatomage Table allows learners to visualize skeletal tissues, muscles, organs and soft tissue that can be customized by virtual slicing, layering and segmenting the anatomy.
As we move to produce excellence and engender lifelong learning in all aspects of medicine, the Anatomage Table offers students the chance to explore human anatomy in an interactive environment, faculty the ability to annotate real-life clinical scans for optimal teaching encounters, clinicians the opportunity to practice patient specific medical visualizations, and researchers the ability to merge 3D geometric models with volumetric images to support research efforts.
The Anatomage Table will be available for walk up use in the Todd Wehr Library, located on the third floor of the MCW Health Research Center, from Monday, Sept. 9, through Friday, Oct. 3. The table is available for walk up use during regular Library hours with the exception of Monday and Wednesday afternoons. Two drop in sessions that will provide a short 15 minute overview of the table and its features will be held as follows:
Tuesday, Sept. 24, 10 a.m.
Tuesday, Oct. 1, 10 a.m.
If you have any additional questions about the Anatomage Table or would like to schedule a presentation or training session, please contact Media & Production Services, firstname.lastname@example.org.
