In addition to the general Graduate School Admissions Requirements, this program has additional specific requirements.

Academic Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree
  • 3.0 overall GPA
  • Submission of transcripts from all previously attended undergraduate and higher education institutions
  • Two letters of recommendation

Program Description

The Graduate Certificate in Clinical and Translational Science will consist of coursework in two main focus areas of clinical and translational science — 1) Translational Research, or 2) Commercial Development of Drugs, Biologics, Devices, and Diagnostics.

The certificate program will offer 12 graduate credits, the majority of which may be applied toward the Master of Science Program in Clinical and Translational Science at the Medical College of Wisconsin or other programs which offer advanced degrees in Clinical Translational Science. Students will participate in core and elective courses currently being offered through the MS Program in Clinical and Translational Science.

The certificate program will be built on the following foundational courses: Biostatistics I, Introduction to Clinical and Translational Science, Introduction to Epidemiology, Clinical Trial Design, Clinical and Translational Research Seminar, and Ethics and Integrity in Science.

MCW seeks participants for kidney research

Feb. 24 - The Medical College of Wisconsin is recruiting volunteers for a clinical research study into kidney function and the link between premature birth and kidney disease.

Clinical Trial Compares Three Drugs for Diabetic Macular Edema

Feb. 23 - Eye Institute researchers collaborated with colleagues at 88 U.S. sites on a clinical trial that found that Eylea (aflibercept) provided greater visual improvement to patients with moderate or worse vision loss caused by diabetic macular edema than either Avastin (bevacizumab) or Lucentis (ranibizumab). Diabetes and oral health in Milwaukee’s Mexican-American community

Feb. 23 - The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) has earned a $37,000 grant from the National Institutes of Health’s National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research to explore the impact of diabetes on Mexican-Americans’ oral health, and the relationship between those factors and the acculturation of individuals within that ethnic group.
