Joseph E. Kerschner, MD, confirmed as Dean of the Medical School and Executive Vice President

Nov. 18 - The Medical College Board of Trustees today confirmed Dr. Raymond’s appointment of Joseph E. Kerschner, MD, as Dean of the Medical School and Executive Vice President.

Aug. 01 - On Aug. 1, the "Milwaukee Journal Sentinel" published an interview with John R. Raymond, Sr., MD, President and CEO. Titled, "Raymond settles into role leading Medical College", it highlights Dr. Raymond’s views on some of the challenges facing MCW and his approach to leadership.

Dr. Joseph Kerschner Appointed Dean of the Medical College of Wisconsin

November 18 - Following a national search, Joseph E. Kerschner, MD, has been appointed dean of the medical school and executive vice president of the Medical College of Wisconsin. The appointment was made by John R. Raymond, Sr., MD, President and CEO, pending approval of the Medical College’s Board of Trustees on November 18. Dr. Kerschner will oversee medical education, research, patient care, and community engagement. He will continue as professor of otolaryngology and communication sciences.

Glenn Allen Bolton, Jr. named Senior Vice President of Finance and Administration

June 14 - I am pleased to announce that Glenn Allen Bolton, Jr., currently Senior Associate Dean for Administration and Finance at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine (UAB), has accepted our offer to succeed Douglas R. Campbell as the Medical College of Wisconsin’s new Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration, effective Sept. 1, 2011. His appointment is pending MCW Board of Trustees approval on June 24, 2011.

06.02 - President’s Diversity Award established

The Medical College of Wisconsin’s Diversity Advisory Committee and the Office of Faculty Affairs have established the President’s Diversity Award to honor individuals or groups from MCW or the community at large who have contributed to making the College a more inclusive and diverse environment. Nominations are now being sought for the annual award. Faculty, staff, students, and community members are eligible for consideration.

The Medical College of Wisconsin will be integrating numerous communication enhancements over the coming months to improve our work life and help us connect more easily with each other.

03.23 - 415 Medical College of Wisconsin Doctors Recognized as "Best Doctors in America"

A total of 415 Medical College of Wisconsin faculty physicians, representing 63 specialties, are listed on the "Best Doctors in America 2011-2012" database. The information, compiled by Best Doctors, Inc., includes more physicians from the Medical College than any other group practice or institution in Wisconsin.

The Medical College of Wisconsin has partnered with Bright Horizons to offer employees back up child and adult/elder care for those times when you need to be at work and regular care is unavailable.

02.18 - Q&A from first Town Hall Meetings

The first Town Hall Meetings with Dr. John R. Raymond, Sr., President and CEO, and Dr. Joseph Kerschner, Interim Dean and Executive Vice President, were held Tuesday, Feb.1, at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center, and Feb. 15 & 16 in the MCW Alumni Center.

“Ask the President,” an online tool people can use to submit questions about the institution to John R. Raymond, Sr., MD, President and CEO, has been launched on the front page of InfoScope. Questions can be submitted anonymously or with the submitter’s name attached.
