Carlos E. Arce-Lara, MD, is Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin Division of Hematology and Oncology, specializing in thoracic oncology and multiple myeloma at Froedtert Hospital. He graduated from Autonomous School of Medical Sciences (EACMCA) in San Jose, Costa Rica in 1999, he then completed his internal medicine residency at Mercy Catholic Medical Center in Philadelphia PA, and a Fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at The Ohio State University Medical Center. Dr. Arce-Lara served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston Texas and before joining MCW he returned to his home country of Costa Rica for two years where he served as Assistant Professor in Medical Oncology at the Hospital San Juan de Dios. He has authored several publications, abstracts and poster presentations in national meetings. During training he was awarded the James Hifferty Jr. award for excellence in clinical medicine and was voted best fellow of the year in 2005. Dr. Arce-Lara is board certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, and Hematology.
