Welcome to the Division of Hematology and Oncology at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Our talented faculty and staff combine humane, patient-centered care with the academic pursuit of better cancer therapies giving new hope to patients and families. The Division provides expertise in all aspects of medical oncology including treatment of solid tumors, hematologic (blood) cancers and bone marrow transplantation. We also provide exceptional care for non-cancerous blood diseases, including bleeding and clotting disorders. Finally, our Palliative Care Service provides expert consultation in quality of life issues for all patients facing serious illness as well as end of life care. Read more...

MCW Division of Hematology and Oncology physicians and practitioners primarily see patients at the Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin Clinical Cancer Center and at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center. Faculty members also see patients in collaboration with Medical College of Wisconsin oncologists at Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Network locations: Froedtert Health Community Memorial Hospital’s Cancer Care Center in Menomonee Falls and Froedtert Health St Joseph’s Hospital’s Kraemer Cancer Center in West Bend.

Injury and cell damage in alcohol liver disease

Mar. 3 - The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) and the University of Pennsylvania have received a joint five year, $2.6 million grant from the National Institutes of Health’s National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism to study the role of an enzyme in alcohol liver disease.

Drs. See and Wang Discuss Value of Liquid Biopsies

Mar. 2 - Dr. William See (Urology) and Dr. Liang Wang (Pathology) provide expert comment to a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article on liquid biopsies. Dr. Wang has been researching two different methods of liquid biopsy, one using DNA circulating in the bloodstream, the other using RNA embedded in vesicles, tiny membranes released by cells.
