Discovery - first images of rod photoreceptors in a living human retina

Dubis, Joseph Carroll, et al. published the first images of the rod photoreceptor cells in a living human retina (see the image below). The paper, published in Biomedical Optics Express, generated worldwide acclaim and interest in the science and efforts behind this achievement.
